1995-96
We have 866 members (as of April 1996):
| US | 639 |
| Foreign | 159 |
| Student US | 62 |
| Student Foreign | 10 |
Although these numbers are slightly down, we are currently taking in approximately twice what we are spending-- a fortunate circumstance. Because of this, we voted for a dues reduction of $5. This will go into effect in December 1996.
This period saw the purchase of a PowerBook portable computer for the Secretary/Treasurer, ensuring consistency from year to year in our bookkeeping, as well as a PowerMac desktop publishing system for the Annual editor. We should continue to see the costs for producing the Annual plummet because of this purchase.
At the annual meeting in Norfolk, we voted to transfer $10,000 to the Carolyn Horton fund. We continue to support the Stout fund with a $500 per year donation. Two Board members from last year asked for the $200 reimbursement for annual meeting expenses. Our telephone costs are modest, as are the costs for our splinter groups LCCDG and ADG.
We've had two mailings since last year's AIC meeting, both with enclosed ballots or referendum. We chose shocking electric colors to get everyone's attention - and it worked! We had better-than-expected numbers of responses.
