Topics in Photographic Preservation is a biannual publication of the Photographic Materials Group (PMG) of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC).
It provides a means for the informal exchange of information, experiences and techniques relating to photographic science, conservation and collections care.
Topics in Photographic Preservation should not be viewed as a substitute for or equal to the Journal of the American Institute for Conservation (JAIC), the authoritative reference published semiannually by AIC.Topics in Photographic Preservation is not the appropriate place for scholarly work in its finished form or material which might be of general interest to the profession.  These are better disseminated through JAIC and should be submitted to the Editor of JAIC for consideration.  Unlike the JAIC, whose contributors are required to submit to rigorous editorial and peer review, Topics in Photographic Preservation will print all reasonable submissions from the membership without editorial intervention.
